Keyboard Shortcuts For ChromeVox Screen Reader

Here Is The Full List of Keyboard Shortcuts for ChromeVox Screen Reader For Chrome Browser.


Prefix Key:


The Prefix Key is enabled by pressing Control + Z.

Basic Navigation
  1. ChromeVox + Down = Navigate Forward
  2. ChromeVox + Up = Navigate backward
  3. ChromeVox + Right = Navigate forward at a more detailed level
  4. ChromeVox + Left = Navigate backward at a more detailed level
  5. ChromeVox + Equals = Change navigation level to more detail
  6. ChromeVox + Minus = Change navigation level to less detail
  7. Enter = Activate current item
  8. ChromeVox + Space = Force click on current item
  9. ChromeVox + R = Start reading from current location

  

Speech Commands


  1. Control = Stop speaking the current text
  2. ChromeVox + Single quote = Increase pitch of speech
  3. ChromeVox + Semicolon = Decrease pitch of speech
  4. ChromeVox + Close Bracket = Increase rate of speech
  5. ChromeVox + Open Bracket = Decrease rate of speech
  
Headings

To move to the next header on the page, press ChromeVox + N then H. To move to the previous header on the page, press ChromeVox + P then H.

You can also move to a specific heading level by pressing ChromeVox + N or P then the number representing that heading level. For example, to move to the next level 2 header, press ChromeVox + N then 2.

Jump Commands

ChromeVox allows you navigate through lists of similar items, such as links, headers etc. To move to a specific item on a page, press ChromeVox + either N or P. N stands for Next and P stands for Previous.

  1. Tab = Jump to next focusable item
  2. Shift + Tab = Jump to previous focusable item
  • Press ChromeVox + N or ChromeVox + P and then one of the following commands:
    1. A = Anchor
    2. Q = Block quote
    3. B = Button
    4. X = Checkbox
    5. C = Combobox
    6. G = Graphic
    7. H = Heading
    8. J = Jump
    9. ; = Landmark
    10. F = Form Field
    11. L = Link
    12. O = List
    13. I = List item
    14. R = Radio button
    15. S = Slider
    16. T = Table

 

Table Mode


Table Mode is activated by ChromeVox + Back slash when reading a table. The following are the commands that become available only in table mode.

  1. ChromeVox + Back space = Force exit table mode
  2. ChromeVox + Down = Go to next table row
  3. ChromeVox + Up = Go to previous table row
  4. ChromeVox + Right = Go to next table column
  5. ChromeVox + Left = Go to previous table column
  6. ChromeVox + T then H = Announce headers of the current cell
  7. ChromeVox + T then L = Announce coordinates of the current cell
  8. ChromeVox + T then Open bracket = Go to beginning of table
  9. ChromeVox + T then Close bracket = Go to end of table
  10. ChromeVox + T then Semicolon = Go to beginning of the current row
  11. ChromeVox + T then Single quote = Go to end of the current row
  12. ChromeVox + T then Comma = Go to beginning of the current column
  13. ChromeVox + T then Period = Go to end of the current column

  2. ChromeVox + Period = Show ChromeVox command help
  3. Escape = Hide ChromeVox command help
  4. ChromeVox + O then O = Open options page
  5. ChromeVox + Forward Slash = Enable search within the page.

Browser commands


Address bar


  • Control L = Move to the address bar. From here you can type your search term in the address bar and press Enter to see results. In addition to search terms, you can type in the web address of a site, and press Enter to go to the site.

Working with tabs


  1. Control + T = Open a new Tab
  2. Control + W = Close a Tab
  3. Control + Tab = Move through Tabs

 

Keyboard explorer


  • ChromeVox + O + K = Open keyboard explorer

 

Chrome OS Keyboard


  • An overview of the Chrome OS keyboard layout is available.

 

Deactivate ChromeVox


  • ChromeVox can be activated / deactivated at any time by pressing ChromeVox + A + A.
